CHILD SEX SLAVERY.
Yoga for Freedom is a week-long global fundraising movement from

to help end the vicious cycle of sex slavery and
unite the yoga community to create social change.
We are a global network of Ambassador yoga teachers and studios uniting to raise funds to take yoga off the mat to provide psychological support and education for child sex slaves so that they can live lives free from slavery. If you’re a yoga teacher, join us an Ambassador today!
Since 2015, we’ve raised over $65,000,

Child Sex Slavery
The average age of girls being trafficked in Nepal is 15.
Many of these girls are forced to have sex 40 times a day.
This does not include the torture, beatings, and abuse they suffer and the enduring trauma they experience.
Due to the patriarchal culture in Nepal women are not considered equal to men.
Atira Tan, Founder of Art to Healing & Yoga for Freedom Ted X Talk on Child Sex Slavery.
In the past 4 years, Yoga for Freedom has
supported directly & indirectly
woman and girls who have experienced sex slavery, exploitation & abuse to have a second chance at life after abuse.
‘Yoga, in the absence of social activism, in the absence of collective community and global transformation, ends up being self-absorption & solipsism.
Love without Action is Meaningless, and Action without Love is meaningless.’
– Deepak Chokpra
“For the women like me who have been trafficked or suffered sexual abuse and also have HIV, the trauma is not just physical but emotional and psychological.
I feel so much better after being in this program with Art to Healing, and I want for my friends and other women to experience this as well so they can have hope to live a good life.”
– Goma Rai, Shakti Milan Samaj Founding Director, Trafficking Survivor.
“I was sold into slavery at the age of 5 years old. My life has been full of suffering. Before I attended Art to Healing programs, I lived constantly in fear and insecurity. I felt like a stone, completely numb. I had no confidence and I was working as a chai maker in an organisation.
However, after attending Art to Healing programs, I now work as a field worker, helping other sex trafficked survivors how to live a new life for themselves. Art to Healing has taught me that I have the power to do everything that I want to do, and that I am a person of worth and value. For the first time in my life, I feel alive. I thank Art to Healing very much, because without them, I would not be able to believe in myself, change my life and help others.”
– Sex Trafficked Survivor & Mother of 2, Nepal.
Sex slavery and the trauma endured by women and children is NOT OKAY with us.
